OntoPay™ uses 4 factor authentication (4FA) over two stages. Stage one is when our purchaser authentication server sends your payment request to your phone – something you have – and you enter your OntoPay™ PIN – something you know. That is 2 factor authentication.

Stage two is when our payment authentication separately server sends your payment confirmation request to your phone – something you have – and you tap confirm – something you do. That is another 2 factor authentication.

Most traditional online card payments have zero factor authentication, meaning anyone can use your card in an online transaction as they don’t have to prove they are the cardholder and no card PIN is involved.

OntoPay™ can be used anywhere you see the OntoPay™ payment option or symbol. Our initial focus is on the online payment sector so watch our for the “Pay now with OntoPay” button on checkout pages.

You can use OntoPay™ to make a payment online or in a store where you see OntoPay™ displayed. You can use OntoPay™ when purchasing online on your smart-phone, or on pad, tablet, laptop, or PC so long as you have your phone to hand. For online transactions, when you select the OntoPay™ payment option you will be asked to enter your phone number and click the “Send My Payment Request”. Your payment request will arrive as a notification to your phone. You tap the notification launching your OntoPay™ App. If you wish to proceed, just enter your 4 digit PIN you chose when registering, and tap OK. You can select which payment card you want to pay with. You will then be prompted to confirm your payment by tapping OK. Then you are done. A payment confirmation will arrive to your phone and appear on your shopping checkout page. The whole process normally takes less than ten seconds.

You can use OntoPay™ to make a payment online or in a store where you see OntoPay™ displayed. To can use OntoPay™ when purchasing in a participating store – just tap “Send Payment” and “Scan QR Code” and scan the transaction QR-code displayed at the checkout or by the attendant.

Yes. OntoPay™ is free to download and use for consumers. The merchant pays a small transaction fee.

You just download OntoPay™ as you would with any other app and follow the registration prompts. Registration takes no longer than it would to complete a traditional purchase using your payment card. Once you have completed your registration process you will be sent your OntoPay™ activation code by SMS to authenticate your phone. You are then ready to use OntoPay™ for your convenience anywhere you see the OntoPay™ symbol.

Yes. Your OntoPay™ App will store a history of your transactions showing the date, time, amount, and recipient – ideal for recalling previous purchases and payments.
OntoPay™ will also store a history of the stores you previously purchased from – ideal for when you wish to make further purchases from these stores. Yous can also share these stores with your friends.

Yes. You can add as many cards as you have to your OntoPay™ App. Simply tap “Accounts”, “Payment Options” and “Add Card” and follow the add card prompts. You can add additional cards at any time. You just need to add one card at registration to activate your OntoPay™ App.

OntoPay™ is phone specific. It is your App on your phone. You can only have OntoPay™ on one phone at any one time. This is why it gives such a strong authentication. No one else can use your OntoPay™ App.
If you change your phone you simply download OntoPay™ again and just login. OntoPay™ recognizes you have a new phone and the OntoPay™ App on your old phone will no longer work.

If your phone is lost or stolen, do not worry, your OntoPay™ App cannot be used to make a payment without your OntoPay™ PIN. Three incorrect PIN entries will lock your OntoPay™ App. You should never disclose your OntoPay™ PIN to anyone, but If you have any concerns that someone who may have gained knowledge of your OntoPay™ PIN has stolen or gained un-authorized access to your phone, you can cancel your OntoPay™ App by going to “My OntoPay” on the OntoPay™ website, or you can download and login to your OntoPay™ App on another phone thereby automatically cancelling your OntoPay™ App on the lost or stolen phone. One thing that sets OntoPay™ apart from other mobile wallets is that OntoPay™ stores no card details on your phone, protecting your financial privacy should your phone be stolen and data robbed.

If a card on your OntoPay™ app expires you can simply delete it – tap “Accounts”, “Payment Options”, select the card you wish to delete and swipe to the left to highlight “Delete Card”. Yes. You can use OntoPay™ for business purchases if you have your business credit/debit card added to your OntoPay™ App. You simply select your business card when authorising the transaction.
